Renegades Alumni Update: Troy Murray
YOUR Renegades are proud to celebrate another milestone for program graduate Troy Murray, who has been loaned to Springfield of the American Hockey League. Murray is currently with the Allen Americans, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators and the AHL’s Belleville Senators.
The Toronto, Ontario native has appeared in 19 games with Allen this season, recording one goal and 27 penalty minutes. Now in his sixth season of professional hockey, Murray continues to earn opportunities through his size, physical play, and consistency.
Murray played parts of three seasons with YOUR Renegades, developing into a reliable forward before moving on to junior and professional ranks. His GMHL totals with the Renegades are as follows:
2016–17: 27 games, 9 goals, 12 assists, 21 points, 79 penalty minutes
2017–18: 28 games, 6 goals, 22 assists, 28 points, 81 penalty minutes
2018–19: 10 games, 8 goals, 9 assists, 17 points, 26 penalty minutes
These years with YOUR Renegades helped lay the foundation for his professional journey, teaching him compete level, positional play, and the drive to improve every day.
Standing 6-foot-3 and bringing a strong physical presence to the ice, Murray’s path has taken him through the Federal Prospects Hockey League with the Athens Rock Lobsters under Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson, and into the ECHL with the South Carolina Stingrays before signing with Allen.
Congrats Troy! We are excited to follow your success at the next level.
You will always be #UnitedInRed!
