Eric Stephenson wins Defenceman of the Month
The accolades keep coming for YOUR Renegades!
Just weeks after finishing 1st runner-up in Defenceman of the Year voting for the GMHL South Division, Eric Stephenson was named Defenceman of the Month for January.
In his second year playing for coach Darryl Lloyd and the Renegades, the 20-year-old Stephenson has taken a huge step this year playing with veteran Jedi Somersall to form perhaps the best defensive pairing in the GMHL.
Stephenson, a Toronto native, has tallied seven goals and 30 assists so far this season but his most impressive stat may be his two penalty minutes. Playing top-pair minutes on defence and taking only one penalty is an amazing stat.
YOUR Renegades will be counting on Stephenson to be a huge part of the puzzle as the team has some unfinished business with the Russel Cup.
