Renegades to partner with HEADCHECK
YOUR Renegades continue to put the safety of our players above all else.
The North York Renegades are excited to announce our partnership with HEADCHECK Health, which will enhance concussion management for our players through a best-in-class digital platform.
“Adding Head Check to our program is amazing,” said Renegades Head Athletic Trainer Samantha Marson. “It’s not only going to help us keep track of injuries and concussions but also gives us baseline testing which is super important. Head Check will also give us ability to send out important information about our players to their doctors and visibility for their next team in their advancement journey.”
HEADCHECK simplifies the implementation and execution of concussion protocols through its use of mobile, cloud, and analytic technology.
YOUR Renegades will utilize HEADCHECK to execute their concussion protocol process as part of this partnership. The technology will be used for baseline, post-injury, and return-to-play concussion tests throughout the GMHL season, ensuring a high level of safety for all players.
“We strive for player safety and making sure all parents know that we are here to keep their sons safe,” Marson said. “HEADCHECK just adds another tool for us to use. I honestly wish they had something like this around when I was in my university hockey career.”
Established in 2013 from a concussion research lab, HEADCHECK was created to address a critical challenge in sports: the complexity of implementing concussion protocols leaves athletes and organizations vulnerable to risk.
