When Josh Losinsky first arrived in North America as a teenager, it was the result of a family commitment to helping him pursue his hockey dreams.

At just 14 years old, Losinsky and his family made the move to Ontario, sacrificing and working together to give him the opportunity to compete at a high level. Since then, he has built an impressive hockey resume that includes AAA and prep hockey, serving as captain of the Blyth U17 AAA team, earning NAPHL All-Star honours, and eventually making the jump to junior hockey with YOUR Renegades.

Now, after getting his first taste of the GMHL last season, Losinsky has made the decision to return to North York for the 2026-27 campaign.

For the skilled forward, the decision came down to one thing: development.

“I chose to come back to the Renegades because I believe it is the right place for me to continue developing as a junior hockey player,” said Losinsky. “After getting a taste of the GMHL last season, I felt comfortable with the organization and saw an opportunity to take a bigger step this year.”

That comfort level and belief in the program played a major role in his decision to return.

“I’m grateful for the trust the team has shown in me, and I want to repay that by working hard and contributing more.”

Losinsky describes himself as an offensive forward who combines speed, creativity, and confidence with a strong commitment to playing responsibly at both ends of the ice.

“I like to use my skating and strong playmaking ability to create offense, but I also take pride in being responsible defensively,” he said. “I have a strong and accurate shot, I’m confident in the corners, and I try to bring energy and compete every shift.”

Heading into the upcoming season, Losinsky is focused on taking the next step in his development by improving his consistency, strength, pace of play, and overall impact on every game.

“I want to become a more complete player who can be trusted in all situations, whether that is 5-on-5, power play, penalty kill, or important moments late in games,” said Losinsky, who has set ambitious goals for the season ahead as he hopes to become a key contributor for YOUR Renegades.

Long term, he remains focused on advancing as far as possible in the game.

“My goal is to keep moving up in hockey and play at the highest level possible, whether that is college hockey or eventually professional hockey.”
