In the 2024-2025 GMHL season, the North York Renegades demonstrated exceptional talent and determination, leading to several players receiving league honours and setting career marks.
Artemii Gaidukov: Best Goalie Winner
Goaltender Artemii Gaidukov was instrumental in YOUR Renegades’ success this season, earning the GMHL’s Best Goaltender (South Division) Award. His impressive statistics include 17 wins over 27 games, a Goals Against Average (GAA) of 3.05, and a save percentage of .911. These numbers reflect his consistency and skill between the pipes, providing a reliable last line of defence for the team that will be counting on Gaidukov in the playoffs.

Eric Stephenson: Most Sportsmanlike Winner
YOUR Renegades’ Eric Stephenson’s commitment to fair play and respect on the ice earned him the Most Sportsmanlike Player award in the South Division. He was recognized as the 1st Runner-Up for Best Defenseman in the South Division. YOUR Renegades’ captain scored six goals and added 37 assists while recording ZERO penalty minutes.
Maximus Marek Tortorella: Offensive Contributor
Forward Maximus Marek Tortorella made significant contributions to YOUR Renegades’ offense this season, particularly in clutch situations. He recorded nine game-winning goals during the season, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure and secure victories for his team. The first-year player led the team with 34 goals.
Team Performance
YOUR Renegades finished the season with a 21-12-0 record and a .636 winning percentage. They finished second in the South Division, just behind the Northumberland Stars. North York’s offense averaged 4.09 goals per game while giving up just 127 goals in 42 games. Other numbers that stand out include a stellar penalty killing mark of 90.4%
All-Star Hosts
Renegades hosted the 2024-2025 GMHL All-Star Event at York Canlan, bringing together top talents from across the league and highlighting the organization’s commitment to promoting junior hockey.
U18 Top Prospects Game
The day commenced with the U18 Top Prospects Game, where Team CAO narrowly defeated Team Keele Street Collision 6-5. Notably, YOUR Renegades’ own David Kolenko contributed an assist.
All-Star Skills Competition
The Skills Competition showcased individual talents across various events:

Fastest Skater: Maximus Marek-Tortorella of the North York Renegades claimed this title, underscoring his exceptional speed on the ice.

3-on-0 Breakaway Challenge: Team Gaidukov, featuring Renegades’ players Evan Gupta, Eric Stephenson, and Brayden Sally, emerged victorious. Goaltender Artemii Gaidukov, also from the Renegades, demonstrated remarkable skill by shutting down Team Dyer in the finals.
U21 All-Star Game
In the main event, Team Abrams Towing triumphed over Team SC Insurance with a 7-4 victory. Gaidukov earned MVP honors by allowing just one goal during his tenure in net. Additionally, forward Damian Bridgett contributed a goal, further showcasing the Renegades’ impact on the game.
YOUR Renegades not only excelled during the All-Star Event but also throughout the season, earning individual accolades and contributing significantly to the team’s success. Their performance during the All-Star festivities highlighted their skills and underscored their importance within the league.
